Paper that can tell stories

WEEK 3 - DAY5

1. SOUNDTRACK OF THE DAY

Something different! Why not a National Anthem? What do we think when we think about National Anthems? Football!Het Wilhelmus, the National Anthem of the Netherlands, music composed by Adrianus Valerius and was adopted in 1932.It's the oldest national anthem in the world. It tells of Willem van Oranje (William of Orange), his life and why he is fighting against the King of Spain. As a result, the anthem is written in a first person perspective, as if it were sung by William himself. I've listen to it on TV (yes, football) and always found it a wonderful piece of music!

2. PLACES TO KNOW

The NetherlandsThe Netherlands is a geographically low-lying country, with about 20% of its area and 21% of its population located below sea level, and 50% of its land lying less than one metre above sea level. This distinct feature contributes to the country's name: in Dutch (Nederland), English, and in many other European languages, its name literally means "(The) Low Countries" or "Low Country".

3. PEOPLE TO DISCOVER

6. I found the coptic binding notebooks when I was searching online the other day and I wanted to try it. And here it is! It was sponsored by Pepe Jeans! Once again, I recycled. I used a 2006 fashion catalog from Pepe Jeans. Models are Sienna Miller and Romulo Pires. For the cover decoration I used the catalogue. The cardboard inside was from the sheet pad bottom. The paper inside is the paper I use to draw sketches when I do not use wasted paper. It's from Ambar, a Portuguese brand, 120g/m2, A4 format. I used 40 sheets. I wanted to create something usefull. I know this paper works and it's not expensive. It's something I tested already. Doinf this I am preventing waste. I think my notebook looks sexy! It wasn't very easy at first. The thread keeps entwining! I watched a tutorial but the girl does not say how much pressure we must apply to the thread. Also I had this feeling that the signatures were not strongly  tight. In the end I think the result is not perfect but it will work. Next time I'll do better!
